Description of the wood

Species from Southeast Asia.

Sapwood with a pale yellow colour, sometimes with greenish highlights, and reddish brown heartwood with copper-red highlights.

Wood with a straight fibre and coarse grain, heavy, with an oily feeling and natural durability.

It is good for gluing and machining, although pre-drilling is recommended for screwing. There may be problems in varnishing it due to oily exudation.

Suitable for all kinds of wood flooring, including outdoors. It is a very similar alternative to Soussie.
